Scenario 2: (LZW31 Dimmer - single pole with dimmable filament bulbs) - Had to use the bypass in order for the lights to shutoff (no problem there) but I have to set the maximum brightness to 80% or the switch will shut off. Here’s a sample video that shows what happens: I’m using neutral wiring in all locations with standard incandescent bulbs (I know it’s time to upgrade to LED). Scenario 1: (LZW31 Dimmer in a 3 way setting) The switches automatically turn off by themselves at random times. Here’s my experience: I pre-ordered 1 red series dimmer and 2 black series dimmers (also purchased red series on/off from Amazon) and all 4 have various issues. I have a few Zooz switches but was drawn to Inovelli because of the features of the switches. However I believe that the basic functionality of the switches/dimmers are being ignored or not being tested thoroughly. Other companies are still playing catch up. I love the feature set that they have included in the switches. fun.Let me start by saying that I love that Inovelli is pushing the envelope with smart switches. So now I get to try to find a basic dimmer switch. I would return everything but some of the can broke while taking them out and I tossed all of them on Tuesday. She doesn’t care and she says the retro kits looks close to the old style and if it weren’t 5bucks a bulb she would say this is a waste of money. If this is now more bulbs, more money and a bigger deal it’s not something I can do in a silo. I know it’s not healthy or right but hell it was household. I get mad at her when she buys things at target so it’s only right if she got pissy about this. Everything is weighted and we track the burn down to house budget. We have a list of home projects and a burn down on them. ![]() After getting them in last week I pulled the trigger on a dimmer and ordered a bunch. The wife didn’t want to do anything and I said it’s a clean look let’s do it. So yea I know the bulbs aren’t high quality and far from perfect. So my option is go back to old switch and try something different later or fix the Lutron. She didn’t know we were getting new switches in doing it while she is out. I’m sure they are gonna look at me like I’m running some scam. Now it seems like Lutron is sensitive to type of bulbs so maybe I have an issue.Īny ideas before I take a bunch of switches out, box them up and return them to Home Depot. Like it goes to full brightness and then off. I’m getting a slow on/off when the switch is on. well nothing in the app changed how they are working. I assumed it was something with the app so I just wired up everything and started to do app setup. So I ordered those got them all setup but they flickered. It was a good price and I liked the clean look (I have over 30 can lights in the house so the bulbs add up)Īfter reading around here and talking with folks everyone pretty much said Lutron Caseta is a good investment. So I pulled the trigger and replaced the can lights with the Costco Feit retrofit kits (Dimmable). (If you would like your sub listed please contact the mods!)
